Church of the Ascension - Pollards Hill

COTA was consecrated in 1953 on its present site.

The original church building was the consecrated Church Hall until the present building was built.

The church has a diverse congregation and seeks to reflect the community with its different cultural

heritage. The church is maintained through direct giving by members and subsidised by richer parishes in the

Diocese, so a Vicar can be here.

The Parochial Church Council (PCC) works with the incumbent in the mission and ministry of the church.
The PCC sets the church’s Budget.

It costs over £2,500 per month to maintain this place of worship.

With the cost-of-living crisis, we are continuously seeking funds through various avenues.

Thus, we ask you to keep supporting COTA.

Whether it’s via offering your talents or by financial means.

Our Mission

We, the Church of the Ascension, strive to reach out to our local community with the love of Christ, and to reflect its diversity in

our worship, our outreach and our relationships with each other.

Our Vision

Church of the Ascension is a diverse worshipping community aiming to provide a place of:

  • Togetherness

  • Peace

  • Love

  • And comfort for all people seeking to be fed spiritually as we share in the Gospel of Christ
